A Quartet official said Thursday that exports from Gaza to Europe would be renewed in about six weeks, beginning in April. Among the items that will be permitted for export will be furniture, textiles, vegetables, and a number of other items. Currently, only strawberries and cut flowers are being exported from Gaza. The change was made after discussions with Israel, the official said.
In addition, PA and Jordanian officials said that they were working with Israel to establish a new port terminal at the Allenby Bridge crossing that would serve tourists and other travelers. Currently, both travelers and cargo use the same terminal, resulting in long delays for travelers.
