A painting by 20th-century Spanish artist Pablo Picasso will be displayed at the International Academy of Art in Ramallah, starting in April. The 1943 "Buste de Femme" is being loaned by the Van Abbe museum in Eindhoven.
Arab sources view the loan as a test of the Palestinian Authority's ability to handle the logistics of the loan, with a special climate-controlled room being built for the painting. Its journey, including its passage through Israeli security, is being filmed for a documentary exhibit, which is scheduled to open when the work returns to Holland.
