India's air force will equip its Tejas fighter plane with Derby air-to-air missiles made by the Rafael Israeli Arms Development Authority, according to the Live Mint website. A deal forecast for signature in April will complete the airplane's arsenal, as well as that of other planes.

Hindustan Aeronautics delivered one of the innovative jets in January and a number of others are being tested out of a total order of 40. They are expected to be put into service in 2012, when the Israeli missiles are ready. The Derby is already installed on the Indian air force's Sea Harrier aircraft.
