A report in the London Daily Telegraph said that deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak delayed resigning from his post in order to secure funds and stash them abroad in advance of his resignation. The money was reportedly stowed in banks in Europe and the Gulf countries.

On Friday, Switzerland froze bank accounts belonging to Mubarak and his family, as well as other members of his government. The full amount of money in the Mubarak accounts was not disclosed, but it is said to be in the billions.
