Britain's Foreign Secretary, William Hague, called on Tuesday for Israel to change its stance on the developments in Egypt. Hague said that "Israel's approach could lead the efforts to bring peace in the Middle East to become a victim of the uncertainty in the region."

During a conversation with reporters prior to his visit to North Africa and the Middle East, Hague said that he understands the concerns of Israel and the United States over the instability in Cairo, but stressed that "now is the time for Washington and Jerusalem to advance the peace process with the Palestinians."
