Former CIA Chief: Pollard Release Five Years Overdue

Former director James Woolsey of the United States Central Intelligence Agency said Monday evening that the U.S. should release Jonathan Pollard without demanding anything in return on the diplomatic front. Pollard has been in jail 25 years for passing classified information from the U.S. to Israel.

Interviewed by Channel 2 television, Woolsey said America catches spies from other countries from time to time but none of them have spent 25 years in jail. He said that after reviewing all the material associated with Pollard's case, Pollard should have been released five years ago.
