The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee toured the area staffed by the Israel Defense Forces' 91st Division along the Lebanese border on Sunday, receiving a briefing on Hizbullah activities since the Second Lebanon War in 2006. It also met with members of the Forum of Northern Confrontation Line Communities, which asked for government action to provide upgrade attack shelters in the area.

After the tour, Committee Chairman Shaul Mofaz said, "For some time, there has been a struggle in Lebanon between Shiites and Sunnis, with Iranian involvement, and there is a possibility that Hizbullah will take over Lebanon in order to establish an arm of Iran in the region." He added that it was very important to open negotiatons with the Palestinian Authority and with Syria.,
