Member of Knesset Avishai Braverman (Labor) urged that his party leave the coalition Wednesday morning following the Israeli and American announcements that the United States is easing its pressure on Jerusalem to renew the ban on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria, Army Radio reported.

Tensions intensified Tuesday night within Labor after Defense Minister Ehu Barak prevented Braverman from speaking to the media. Moments before Braverman ascended the podium during a Labor office meeting, Barak and and the party's secretary-general decided to block the entry of journalists, who had been invited to the meeting in advance.

Braverman told reporters after he left the office that "Voices won't be silenced within Labor!" and "This is a despicable act, which is another example that such leadership has no place here."
