Fifty municipal rabbis recently joined Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Tzfat, signing a letter calling on Jews not to sell or rent apartments to Arabs. Among them were major hareidi figures who wrote not to sell or rent to non-Jews.
The public statement cites Biblical and Talmudic sources, as well as those of experts on Jewish law throughout the ages. Rabbi Eliyahu's initial call, months ago, sparked Arab unrest.
