Leading the gainers were the financial institutions, which finished the day at 1,260.11, up .26 percent. The TA 100 closed at 1,163.79, up .02 percent.
The biomed stocks fell .37 percent to 896.27, while the Teltech index finished the day at 234.57, down .31 percent, and the real estate index declined .22 percent to 328.69.
