Homefront Commander Yair Golan said Sunday that the first two batteries of the Iron Dome missile defense system will be deployed in the North in about a month. He said they could not be placed in the center or South of the country, but "It's clear that the needs in the state of Israel are for more than two batteries."

Speaking at the launch of a campaign to prepare the public to enter safe areas in case of an attack and to have those areas well supplied, General Golan said Israel has developed the ability to detect and intercept unconventional weapons. He continued, "We don't know right now if Hizbullah has unconventional weapons or if it intends to have such weapons, but there's preparedness for such a situation.
