Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told envoy Tony Blair of the Quartet of Middle East peace broker nations Sunday evening that Israel will not continue the freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria beyond September 26th, adding that Israel would not build all the tens of thousands of housing units that are in the pipeline.

Netanyahu said that he would not leave the talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA) if the PA did not recognize Israel as a Jewish state and said that the PA should not make continuation of the construction freeze a precondition for the talks to continue.
