Archaeologists Discover Stone Age Ritual in Galilee

Evidence of an ancient funeral feast was discovered near a cave in the Galilee region. The site was excavated by a team from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem led by Dr. Leore Grosman. The team found a burial tomb of a Natufian priestess with tortoise shells and other animal bones, apparently as part of a funeral ritual. The find is dated back to the Neolithic era. It is believed a feast was conducted following the funeral.
