The German magazine Der Spiegel reported on Thursday that German experts have confirmed the authenticity of photographs given to a German leftist delegation in March that purport to show the scorched bodies of eight fighters of the PKK underground killed by chemical weapons. The magazine says German politicians are demanding an investigation.
The Berlin daily Die Tageszeitung reported Thursday that the Turkish Foreign Ministry rejected the accusations, explaining that Turkey is a signatory to the Chemical Weapons Convention and its armed forces do not possess any biological or chemical weapons.
