Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni wrote a letter to retired justice Jacob Tuerkel on Monday, in which she asked to testify, of her own volition, before the judge's panel investigating Israel's interception of a Turkish flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza on May 31st. The former foreign minister and acting prime minister said she wanted to present the committee what she called all of the diplomatic and defense perspectives that led to the closure of Gaza which were not properly addressed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in his testimony on Monday.
Livni associates said, "In contrast to Netanyahu, who proved today that he removes all responsibility from himself and throws it at others af the moment of truth, Livni takes responsibility and wishes to appear before the committee."
