In an interview with Larry King on CNN Wednesday night, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that Israel was interested in talks with the Palestinian Authority, but that the PA opposed direct talks. “The only way to a solution is to sit down and talk directly in order to find solutions to the most serious issues – our security, final borders, the settlements, Palestinian refugees, and water issues.”

When King asked Netanyahu if the building freeze in Judea and Samaria would be extended, Netanyahu said that he instituted the freeze in order to encourage the PA to enter into direct talks, and he still was waiting for the PA's response to his “unprecedented” gesture.
