The independent public probe of the military interception of the Gaza-bound flotilla on May 31st, headed by retired Supreme Court Justice Jacob Turkel, is scheduled to hold its first session Monday in the Re'ut Hall of the Yitzchak Rabin Guest House in Jerusalem. The three-member panel and two foreign observers will deal with the agenda and legal procedures.
The State Attorney's Office told the Supreme Court on Sunday that the committee's work was aimed at the international arena. Responding to a petition by extreme leftists against the Turkel Commission, the office wrote that the panel's methods and scope were legitimate and completely reasonable.
