Political Violence in Thailand Escalates

The number of wounded from clashes on Saturday between the military and red shirt protesters in Thailand has risen to 521, the emergency medical center reported. According to Malinee Sukavrejworakit, deputy governor of Bangkok, four civilians and four soldiers have been killed. Thai troops fired rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators who retaliated with petrol bombs in the biggest confrontation of month-long protests for new elections.
