Rabbi Menachem Porush passed away Sunday evening at the age of 93 of cardiac arrest. He lost consciousness at his home in Jerusalem. Teams from Magen David Adom and Ichud Hatzalah tried unsuccessfully for more than an hour to revive him.
Rabbi Porush was elected to the Knesset in 1959 and resigned in 1975. He returned between 1977 and 1994. He also served as Deputy Labor and Welfare Minister between 1984 and 1985.
His funeral is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. on Monday from Kikar Shabbat (
