Netanyahu Phones Boy Injured by Land Mine in Golan Hts.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the hospital to speak with 11 year old Daniel Yuval, who was having his leg amputated after stepping on a land mine. He and his family were hiking in the Golan Heights. Four others were wounded by the mine, possible left over from the Syrian army. The family was hiking in a populated area.

Netanyahu said he was excited to hear how bravely the boy was dealing with the injury. "Your attitude, despite the young age, shows a lot of courage, excellence, maturity and intelligence,” Netanyahu said.

The Prime Minister said he was interested in the rehabilitation process, and in how to prevent similar incidents in the future.
