Prosecutors in Tel Aviv have filed an indictment against Yehoshua Vita, a former senior official in the Tax Authority, and attorney Yaakov Weinroth, a well-known attorney who has defended many members of Israel's political and economic elite in a series of highly publicized cases.

According to the indictment, Vita accepted payments from Weinroth in return for favors in several cases. Vita was charged with accepting bribes, and Weinroth was charged with giving bribes and money-laundering.
