Soldiers of the Netzach Yehudah battalion were subjected to extensive search procedures Monday night as the unit celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Hebrew University's Mt. Scopus campus in Jerusalem. The soldiers were not allowed to enter with cases or any other equipment. They were also made to stand in two lines and raise their shirts before being allowed into the auditorium where the ceremony took place.

Soldiers who complained were told that the inspections were ordered following recent incidents involving the display and attempted display of banners expressing opposition to the expulsion of Jews from communities in Judea and Samaria.
