New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind is scheduled to plant an olive tree in the Jewish community of Shdema, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, on Tuesday. The Committee for Jewish Shdema and Women in Green have issued a statement which says that Assemblyman Hikind is reinforcing the struggle for a Jewish Shdema, the widening of Jerusalem and the creation of continuity in Jewish settlement of Gush Etzion.
Hikind is bringing about 50 Jews from the United States to Shdema as part of an effort to invest in Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem.
