Senior Israeli military sources said late Thursday evening that there was evidence that the mortar shell that hit a Gaza building, killing one and wounding 11 others, was fired by Israel and not by Gaza terrorists as originally thought. The invesigation into Thursday's death of a Gaza girl and the wounding of 11 others continues.
Following terrorist fire on an Israel Defense Forces patrol along the Gaza security fence, the army responded with the computer-assisted Keshet mortar launcher. It is not clear if the victims were near the terrorists who initiated the fire or whether there was a mistake in the information fed into the mortar's computer.
