MK Tibi Expels Two Members of World Likud Delegation

Two members of a World Likud delegation from the United States were expelled from the Knesset building on Monday after arguing with MK Ahmed Tibi (Ra'am Ta'al).

The first to be expelled was Morton Klein, President of the Zionist Organization of America, who Tibi and asked him to verify that he had attended a pan-Arab conference in Doha as a representative from “Palestine.” The question angered Tibi, who responded by ordering Knesset guards to prevent Klein from entering the building. Klein was denied entrance for two hours, and was finally allowed to enter the building after Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin intervened.

Shortly after Klein entered the Knesset, Tibi told reporters that Klein had approached him and apologized – a claim that Klein denied. After discovering that Tibi was announcing that Klein had apologized, Likud activist Stephen Goldberg encountered Tibi in a hallway and accused him of lying. The accusation offended Tibi, who had Goldberg expelled.
