Lebanese defense will be getting helicopters, UAVs, tanks, and 42 fighter jets regardless of election results, said Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Murr. The equipment was promised to Lebanon by U.S. Vice President Biden who concluded a one-day visit to Lebanon on Friday.
The U.S. has provided Lebanon with half a billion dollars in military assistance to since 2005. “We believe it’s crucial that you be able to do your mission to defend the state and citizens of Lebanon,” Biden said.
