The economic crisis has pushed many families to hunger and estimates assert that the number of people asking for help with the Passover Seder meal will reach 200,000-300,000 this year, far more than last year, according to a report by IDF Army Radio. Nonprofit sector services which rely heavily on private donors for support, have been severely hampered by reductions in donations.
A mother of ten from Lod said, "I sometimes have nothing to feed my children. I don’t even have bread, which is a basic necessity." She said that she has struggled for years to support her family, and that this year is worse than ever before.
