The Likud agreed to the National Union’s coalition demand that the treasury formalize yeshiva funding as part of the national budget on Sunday. As part of the deal, funds will be set as a basic part of the national budget, and will also be paid out on a set day each month.
The plan includes all yeshivas, including haredi yeshivas, Hesder yeshivas, and pre-military yeshivas. The total budget for yeshivas is approximately one billion shekels a year.
