Likud MK Ophir Akunis toured Samaria on Monday and voiced his opposition to the formation of a Palestinian Authority State. He explained, “The idea of two states for two peoples is no longer realistic. It has been proved that every place which Israel retreats from becomes a base for terrorism, just as occurred after the Disengagement.”
Akunis said that in his opinion, “In order to reach a true peace, we will need to think of creative solutions by which the Palestinian Authority will be independent without damaging Israel’s security needs.” Akunis toured Samaria with Samaria regional head Gershon Mesika, as part of a program to bring MKs to the area.
