Organizers of the annual March of the Living, commemorating the Holocaust, have called on world leaders to participate in the march instead of the U.N. Human Rights Conference to be held the same day in Geneva, Switzerland. Both will occur on April 21st.
The March of the Living is a march of around 10,000 students from around the world from the Auschwitz concentration camp to the death camp at Birkenau where over 1.5 million Jews were killed.
The U.N. Human Right Conference has been dubbed Durban II after its predecessor held in 2001 in Durban, South Africa, which was filled with anti-Israel and anti-Semitic rhetoric. The U.S., Canada, and Israel have already announced they will boycott the conference out of fear it will be a repeat of the intolerance of the first conference.
