Iran plans to host a two-day conference on Wednesday and Thursday for the support of Palestinian Authority Arabs, according to the official IRNA news agency.
Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani, who formerly was the nation's chief nuclear scientist, said the gathering would focus on the situation in Gaza and claimed that Egypt would also take part. The conference was organized in response to the international donor summit held Monday at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, where 70 nations and 15 international aid organizations raised some $4.5 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza's infrastructure.
