(IsraelNN.com) Police evacuated leaders of the Jewish community in the southern Swedish city of Malmo out of fear for their lives after pro-Arab demonstrators attacked a demonstration in support of Israel there Sunday afternoon.

About 700 people took part in the pro-Israel rally, including members of Sweden's Democratic party. Participants carried signs saying, "Stop Eight Years of Kassam" and "Peace for Children in Israel and Gaza." The Arab supporters, who had been holding a demonstration of their own, threw a tear-gas grenade, bottles and eggs at participants in the pro-Israel demonstration about half an hour after it began.
