France 2, a public French television station, has apologized for using fake footage of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. The station broadcast a video purporting to show dead and wounded in wake of an Israeli strike. The footage was actually taken in 2005 following the explosion of Hamas rockets during a pro-Hamas rally in the Gaza city of Jabalia.
France 2 has been accused in the past of airing fake anti-Israel footage. The station broadcast footage purporting to show an Arab boy, Muhammed al-Dura, being shot by IDF troops. Israeli officials say the al-Dura video was a hoax.
