The Homefront Command said Tuesday that the missile-alert system in Gan Yavneh, east of Ashdod, has been checked and found to be working at different levels in different parts of the area. The announcement came in response to a number of inquiries following the landing of a Grad missile there on Monday.

The command says the system is designed to determine when a missile is headed toward a specific community and Gan Yavneh sirens are only sounded when the system detects a launch specificly in the direction of Gan Yavneh.
