Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni are set to meet Friday morning to discuss the pros and cons of proceeding with a major military operation in Gaza to destroy terrorist infrastructure and reduce, if not entirely end, the rocket and mortar attacks on southern Israel.
Foreign Minister Livni will report on her efforts to gain support for such an operation from the international community, including discussions with foreign leaders in Europe, the United States and Arab countries as well. Defense Minister Ehud Barak will report on the readiness of the military for such an operation and the home front's state of readiness to deal with the fallout that may occur in the response to the operation from Hamas and other Gaza terrorists.
