Ashkenazi Jews—those of European origin—earn an average of 40 percent more than Jews of Middle Eastern descent (Mizrahi Jews), according to the Adva Center. The center also said the middle class had shrunk over the past decade, while the lower and upper classes had grown in size.
The Adva Center is a group promoting feminism and equality for Mizrahi Jews and Arabs.
