Senior Palestinian Authority negotiator Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala) rejected coexistence with Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria on Monday. Recent rioting in Hevron proves that Arabs and Israelis cannot live together in Judea and Samaria, he said. Some PA officials have suggested that Jews would be allowed to live in Judea and Samaria as members of a minority if a PA state were created in the area.
"Settlement is aggressive and illegal and must be removed in order to have true peace,” Qureia said. “As long as the settlements aren't evacuated the fighting will continue... The Israeli government must expel all settlers from Hevron and other areas, there will be no peace with the settlers.”
