"We may be facing a wave of riots that will spread throughout Judea and Samaria," Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Channel 2 Wednesday evening. He was referring to possible protests by Jews because of the inteded eviction from Hevron's Peace House.
Barak called upon "whoever can exert his influence to do so now before the event." He said that the purpose of this was to make the greatest possible effort to enable the eviction of Peace House "without bloodshed."
"Nothing will cause us to allow a small and radical group to destabilize the State's authority," he said, and added that "the order [for eviction] will be carried out within the time frame given by the Supreme Court.".
