Government Set to Release 250 Terrorists

At its weekly meeting Sunday, government sources said that the Cabinet is likely to authorize the release of 250 terrorists. The release is the result of a commitment made by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in a recent meeting between the two, after Olmert offered the release as a "gesture" to Abbas.
The sources said that none of the terrorists to be released would have "blood on their hands," and that none had participated in or planned terror attacks in which Israelis were killed.
