Five hundred members of the Palestinian Authority security forces have arrived in Jordan, where they will undergo advanced training provided by the United States. This is the second PA force to receive such training.
US officials who support the plan say it will allow the PA to control internal violence. The Fatah terrorist group in charge of the PA has frequently clashed with rival terrorist group Hamas in the past several months, and last year lost control of Gaza completely. Opponents say the advanced training could be used against internal political opponents or against Israel.
