The Palestinian Authority (PA) spent more than 58 percent of its budget, which is largely financed by the European Union (EU), on services and salaries in the Gaza region that is controlled by Hamas.
The PA said it spends more than 402 million shekels ($114 million) in Gaza every month for salaries of former PA employee who do not work with Hamas and pledge support for the PA, led by the rival Fatah party.
