The European Union (E.U.) has agreed to hand over to the financially ailing Palestinian Authority (P.A.) another $50 million to help pay public salaries. The E.U. already has financed the PA with more than $375 million this year.
Kuwait previously has pledged to give P.A. Prime Minister Salam Fayyad $80 million, but the funds have not yet arrived. In addition, the international community pledged $7.7 billion in aid for the P.A. at a fundraising conference this year, but most of the pledges have not been converted into cash.
