In a preliminary reading on Wednesday, the Knesset approved a bill that would add psychologists and social workers to the list of professionals obliged to report to medical authorities about any diagnosis of a condition which could cause a person to be a danger to him or others when he drives.

The medical authority will then pass on its recommendation regarding possible cancellation of the person's driving license to the Licensing Office.

The law's explanatory notes determine that the right of protection of life supersedes the right to privacy.
