MK Eldad at Amona Trial: "They Came to Beat Us Up" Reported: 19:59 PM - Jul/06/08
(IsraelNN.com) The evidence and testimony phase of MK Aryeh Eldad's lawsuit against policemen who attacked him in Amona ended Sunday, and two policemen involved in the violence against the National Union Knesset member admitted their part in what happened. The suit relates to police action during the demolition of nine houses in the Samarian Jewish community in February 2006. A Brig.-Gen. Bokobza said that he had given an order to "throw out" the Knesset members who were at Amona and another policeman, Ibrahim Rihal, admitted that he was the one who tore MK Eldad's wrist tendon, and added that he had asked his forgiveness. MK Eldad told Israel National News: "There was no attempt at dialogue. They came to beat us up… After the Policemen's Investigations Department failed to identify the policeman and [Hevron activist] Orit Struck identified him handily, he had to testify and answer quite a few questions, like why he smiled when he tore my wrist tendons." ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
