Financial problems have forced the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) to shut down its study center in Arad, which has been operating for 40 years. More than 8,000 students have learned at the program, and approximately 25 percent of them have made aliyah.
The Jewish Agency said it does not have enough money to fund the operation, which includes housing the students. The once popular program has been declining in popularity, and only 15 students signed up for this fall's program.
