The code name of the Israeli Air Force simulated exercise of an attack on Iran's nuclear site was Glorious Spartan 08, according to Greek sources quoted by the French news agency AFP. Israel used Greek air space to conduct the maneuvers between May 28 and June 12, and sources in Athens confirmed its forces participated in the exercise.

Knesset Member Tzachi HaNegbi, (Likud), chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, said following The New York Times report of the training exercises, "The world must decide if it gives more time to diplomatic efforts, which currently do not seem very promising Western measures against Iran's nuclear program have failed."
