Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will present Fatah/PA head Mahmoud Abbas with "a framework agreement for ending the conflict" in their meeting Monday, a Saudi newspaper reported. According to Al-Ukaz, Olmert will also present the agreement to President George Bush on his visit to the U.S. this week.

Diplomatic sources told the Saudi paper that Olmert asked to meet Abbas Monday and intended to present him with the agreement. If Abbas accepts the offer, Bush will announce it in a White House ceremony that will be attended by world dignitaries. The agreement delays some of the "core issues" to a later phase of negotiations but sets a timetable for these talks.
