Peres Calls For Palestinian State in Opening Address (IsraelNN.com) President Shimon Peres took the oppurtunity at the opening of the Tomorrow Conference he organized to call for the establishment of a state of Palestine. "If only the proposal in 1948 of two states for two people were accepted it would have saved the lived of so many young men and women," Peres said. "There is no reason to wait a single day longer to establish that state, which will be better for all the peoples of the Middle East." Peres later said that if not for Hamas, there would already be a Palestinian state. The president said that the purpose of the conference is to outline what the proper future is for the world's inhabitants. "Do not speak about the past - speak about the future," Peres exhorted. "The world is a new world and we have the right to create a new reality." ![]() © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
