Jerusalem police have declared a heightened state of alert for the President's Conference that will take place in the capital from Tuesday to Thursday. A host of international leaders are expected for the two-day conference, including US President George W. Bush, business leaders, international Jewish leaders and others.
8,000 officers will secure the events and roads will be closed around the King David hotel and other conference venues. Heavy traffic is expected throughout the capital throughout the conference.
For information about road closings and security procedures throughout the city, Jerusalem police will maintain an information hotline throughout the conference at 1-700-90-20-30. In addition, Jerusalem municipality operators will be on hand for questions at (02) 531-4600, or by dialing 106 from any phone in Jerusalem.
