Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas underwent an angioplasty during the course of an angiogram at a Jordanian hospital on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
The procedure, which was completed successfully, pushed a tiny balloon through a blood vessel that was obstructed. Such obstructions can cause heart attacks if not treated. Abbas spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said the PA chairman will return to his Ramallah headquarters on Friday.
